Here's a Swinley update since I didn't know most of this before today:

Tank traps still closed, you can't see well enough to tell if it is still there or not but a lot of trees have been clear cut. The diversion is right out of Stickler and on fireroads for about 1km until past the next star post.

Seagull is closed and diverted onto a new singletrack trail (not very interesting). Although the signs say diversion I suspect it is permanent since all of the trees and most of the earth are gone in aid of a pipeline construction project?

The bird nesting site after Labyrinthe is closed as usual but Red 25 was open and apparently unaltered since the fatality.

Overall the blue trail still gets the thumbs up from me as long as it's quiet, it is more like mini-Wales than ever with significant braking bumps and overall surface roughness!

Might be old news as I haven't been down it in a while but a fairly large tree down on the first section of BBD.

Out tonight and found a strand of barbed wire strung between two trees on life on Mars- it was on the newish right hand route, about hub height. It wasn't there Saturday but the stick fairies have been active there lately.

They've also spread to wizards sleeve- all of the top section was scattered. We cleared a lot so if they're back soon then someone has too much spare time. Finally, they've dug up the ramp over the log roll so watch out if you're coming in to that at speed.

Just keep an eye out if you're first down a trail in the area!

Thanks Matt - the barbed wire on LOM sounds particularly nasty.

10/04/16 - View to a kill has several trees down on it. Two can be stepped over, however, the third needs to be clambered over, but not easily.

Hi

I can confirm that no-one will be setting PRs down View to a kill for a while unless they go down it first with a big chainsaw. Lloyd and I rode it on Friday and moved some of the small branches. It also natural tree fall not a walker / landowner.

View to a kill has been clear since at least Monday, the log roll at the top of wizards sleeve was fine again as of Monday too.

I did go over the log roll on the ranmore trails (after the top of white down, is it trouble in paradise?) yesterday and the front face has been smoothed a bit but I think the back is a bit hollowed out so a bit of speed helps

The main part of Life on Mars has been completely fenced off.

But the good news is we have a new parallel LOM which is very well established. It starts and ends in the same places but after about 10m the new trail runs a bit further north to avoid the restricted parts in the woods.

Land rover has a tree across it about 2/3 of the way down. It's at bar height and not duckable.

Last part as you cross bridleway on Rice n beans has been blocked with large branches at about 4 - 5 places. Avoided over the bars moment tonight, but ended up in the bundu on my arse.
I unblocked most of it.
