DVO Suspension – New Year, new distributor

Windwave have just announced that they have become the sole UK Distributor of DVO Suspension.

The move sees all repair and warranty work, as well as UK DVO distribution, move to Windwave‘s headquarters in Gosport, according to BikeBiz.

Now I have to admit, as a brand I’ve not had a great deal of experience with DVO, in fact I can only think of Colin who runs their forks (admittedly they seem to work rather well for him). Their visuals are quite distinctive as the brand’s accent colour is Lime Green, similar to the Hope racing green, though more muted colours are available. The technical specs seem to stack up well against what is some fierce and established competition.

DVO produce a full range of suspension products, including forks (such as the 140-170mm internally adjustable travel 27.5 DVO 110 Diamond), a dropper post (the Garnet) and both air and coil rear shocks.

The name stands for Developed Suspension, which I think they take quite literally because one thing that caught my web developer eye is the fact the DVO website has such amazingly poor optimisation for the likes of Google. ALL the content is written into images, which means Google can’t make head or tail of it, unless I’m missing something. They might develop suspension but they seem to steer clear of websites…

This might account for the relatively low profile of DVO products, although the fact they don’t often appear on bikes as OEM spec is probably more of a factor. Even so, I’d think they could make some quick wins in raising their web profile with a website overhaul!
