The law according to Sod…
…and how good can come of it.
I was up early today for my weekly ride into work. Everything I needed I had ready the night before so it would be a simple operation to get dressed, get on the bike and go.
But oh no. As I was putting my cycle tights on I managed to break the zip on one of the ankles, thus rendering my £50 pair of Endura tights effectively useless. After much cursing I decided to bite the bullet and risk riding into work in my baggies despite the cold weather.
As it turned out, this was the right thing to do because despite a chill wind (you know, the one that blows nobody any good?) it was actually quite mild. If I had been wearing my full winter gear I think I would have roasted before I’d gone two miles.
There’s serendipity for you. Though I have to balance that versus the extra cost of new tights on top of the chainring, gloves and rear light I have bought this month already.

Well Susan, you have a number of options available to you, to ensure that you are still a well dressed man.
1 – Wrap your ankle in black insulating tape
2 – Do a Liz Hurley, and put some big safety pins in it
3 – Wear a pair of womens 70 denier black tights instead
4 – Stop being such a mince, and realise that those zips always ride up anyway, and so are always open

True, but the problem is now my right leg is flapping open to mid calf – not a good look and the loose material will foul the chainrings.
I think I might need to go in search of a decent tailor to effect a repair.
