Take the Kids Too
Having just got a Trek tag along bike for the kids (which is a complete success) from Head for the Hills in Dorking, riding with the kids is a hot topic for me at the moment as I try to get them into cycling.
I’m now thinking of how I can get both elder kids out at the same time and found the BodySpace product from what appears to be a start-up operation based locally. With the weight of one behind tagging along and one up front, I’ll have pins like Geoff Capes in next to no time.
Anyway, whether you have kids or not, if you’re into MTB, the promo video is guaranteed to make you laugh.

Did the mother of the child know what Daddy was planning that day I wonder ???

That’s a complete coincidence as we were chatting to Chas Gordon on Sunday, after seeing his “invention” being used on the Surrey Hills. He is a very enthusiastic chap with a good knowledge of bike geometry and engineering. The said carrier costs £169 and can be fitted to almost any bike.
I am still looking at solutions to carry my “forthcoming” child on the bike, but would consider this as an option. Others include the classic chair type on the back and also the trailer type which fits to the rear QR.
Just a thought but can anyone lend me a child so I can go and test a few options ?
PS…I don’t do nappy changing…yet!

The BodySpace looks great for ‘stage 2’ but I’ve just ordered this i-Bert safe-T-seat which looks more suitable as an introduction to riding on board with me, with the baby aspiring to move up to the BodySpace after a few months.
Rob – wanna buy the iBert off me when he’s outgrown it ??
