Miles better
So just how far did I ride in 2005?
At the beginning o the year I thought I would try and keep track of my annual mileage for the sake of future comparison. It turns out to be far less than I had originally hoped.
Bike | Start 2005 | End 2005 | Total |
---|---|---|---|
* All figures in miles. ** That’s 99 miles since the entire running gear was changed to Shimano LX. |
|||
Marin Rift Zone | 2208 | 2954 | 754 |
Marin Muirwoods | 99** | 283 | 184 |
So, the overall results came out at a disappointing total of 938 miles which was considerably less than I had hoped. As I mentioned in an earlier post it is theoretcially possible without too much effort to achieve some 2100 miles. In effect this means I have only ridden for six months this year.
This is surprising because when I have cycled, particularly the commute to work, I’ve tried hard and achieved a good pace. It just goes to show the value of actually keeping track of what you do because I feel I have been kidding myself over the amount of exercise I have been doing.
Here’s hoping for a more consistent (and fitter) 2006.

To do list for 2006
In the fine tradition of good intentions and empty promises that people make at this time of year in the post Christmas, over-indulged hiatus running up to New Year I have taken the bold step of actually putting into ‘print’…
