Muddymoles mountain biking in the Surrey Hills and Mole Valley

Videos of Abba Zabba, Blind Terror and Numbskull

So, we’re into May, but before we start to look ahead to the summer proper (oh the irony), it’s time to tidy up some loose ends.

Now that we’ve decided to load our videos onto Vimeo (basically because it offers better resolution and upload limits versus YouTube), I’ve gone back and added some of our earlier ones.

They’re not the best quality (not as good as Dave’s Holmbury Hill videos) but they’re here for completeness.

First, here’s us having a play at the bottom of Numbskull. Originally we called this Rooty Woods for want of a better description but Rich’s moniker (from Diary of a Mountain Biker) I think has stuck. Although you can get medical help for that.

Next, some footage of me leading the way round the chicken run at Abba Zabba and then down Blind Terror 2. I was going slower (much slower) than usual as I wasn’t sure how well the helmet cam was tracking me but you get the idea.

Finally, Dave shows the way down the whole of Numbskull. This whole section, with Abba Zabba and Blind Terror behind it can be strung together into a lovely flowing run down off the top of Ranmore toward the Abinger Roughs.

Hope you enjoy. Now we have a decent environment for hosting these videos we’ll try and upload them in higher quality in the future.

About the author

Matt is one of the founding Molefathers of the Muddymoles, and is the designer and main administrator of the website.

Having ridden a 2007 Orange Five for many years then a 2016 YT Industries Jeffsy 29er, he now rocks a Bird Aether 9 and a Pace RC-627.

An early On-One Inbred still lurks in the back of the stable as a reminder of how things have moved on. You can even find him on road bikes - currently a 2019 Cannondale Topstone 105 SE, a much-used 2011 Specialized Secteur and very niche belt drive Trek District 1.

If you've ever wondered how we got into mountain biking and how the MuddyMoles started, well wonder no more.

Hello boys. Cool vids but if you bring the head cam next weekend when I am there, can I suggest a wide angle lens!!

    See you all Friday
