2009 Avid Elixir CR
More product news for 2009, this time from Avid who have been busy plugging the gap in their range between the svelte Juicy and the rugged Code. They’ve come up with something that I happen to think is a very strong contender for the all round, All Mountain performance brake title. Call it AMPerf™ in marketing speak.
The photo is from Bike Mag which has far more detailed information than I’ll repeat here. Suffice to say that these weigh less than Juicy Carbons, have larger pistons and pads and feature tool-free reach and contact point adjustment.
The best part is the price, in the US they’re just $204 per wheel, making them just a tad over £100 with our current exchange rate. Prices for the cheaper model start at $129, so they’re definitely going on my Inbred upgrade list.
