Thetford D2D 2009 – Our first race entry
Somewhat improbably, and I mean improbably, we’ve managed to enrol ourselves in this year’s Marin Dusk til Dawn race in Thetford on the 3/4 of October. No, I don’t quite know how that happened either, but a big thanks to Lee for organising us sufficiently to at least get our necks into the noose.
We have one soloist (good luck Jez…), seeking revenge for last year’s partial defeat, plus two further teams, at this stage a three and a four although it’s hopeful we’ll end up with two fours.
Collectively, to keep Jez company we have the Stig (our secret weapon?), Barrie, Jem, DaveC, Lee, a recovering Tony and myself plus a likely Mark ear-marked for competitive (hah!) duties and an open invite to anyone else to join in the burger flipping and beer drinking; unless of course they would like to form a further team.
With such a mass mole-migration I was wondering if the DoMTB crew fancy pitching their hats into the ring with their own entry? We have no plans to attack the race so it could turn into a nice North Downs hoe-down if we can all get a posse together. Sort of safety in numbers – Mark’s already worrying he’ll be out of place in Norfolk with just the five digits on each hand. Anyone else from Surrey’s finest riding area who wants to meet up, just let us know.
Now all I have to do is sort out some team apparel between now and October.
