Muddymoles mountain biking in the Surrey Hills and Mole Valley

Another Ride Report

How jammy am I going on 2 rides this weekend, ignoring the house work and going out to play instead?

This morning I went out with another new Femole rider, it is really great meeting new people and showing them great places to ride.

Today we went from Bocketts Farm up to the sawmill and right along the back of Norbury, up into the woods, out into the carpark, down the tarmac and left onto “Jem’s favourite”.

I love this group of trails for a variety of terrain and with some beautiful scenery, I love the woods along Mickleham nice and wide, fast and swooping. I noticed a big grin on the new femoles face it is a grin I have felt myself many times and a grin I see when Dave gets home from a ride.

We then went down the bridlepath, our new rider likes downhills so I thought I would add that into the ride and then we headed back along past the farm and out onto the A24 and home.

A nice 10 miles before we got back to my house and enjoyed a nice cup of coffee and a chat.

A very pleasant way to spend a Sunday morning!

About the author

Cathie was introduced to mountain biking by Dave about 9 years ago but only really been riding regularly since May 2008 when she invested in a new hard tail (a white On-One classic Inbred), a wise investment as a result of being able to trial different bikes at Cycle Works demo day at Holmbury-St-Mary. She also rides a full suspension Giant Cypher which was this year's treat and saw many miles during the summer of 2010.

Cathie has attended skills days with Dirt Divas at Swinley Forest, she would like to improve her skills on bomb holes and her favourite trails are the ride over to Newlands corner loving "Whitedown" and a favourite trail through Denbies.

Cathie loves meeting other female riders of all fitness levels and experience and is hoping for less punctures in 2011 now that both bikes are wearing tubeless tyres!
