With 13 inches of snow earlier in the week, only the committed were out for a Sunday ride from Bookham to Reigate Hill.
It was a blast down the hill with the snow begining to freeze and back down into Fetcham/Bookham. Distance wise it hadn’t been a long ride, exertion wise it had but riding in the snow had been a great experience for us who see it so infrequently. Amazingly we’d had no big offs and the laughs per mile had been very high. It was kids playing in the snow all over again.
The start of February sees us heading to Leith Hill from Bookham for a great days riding in the woods. But managing four punctures over a collective 240 miles was a bit of a shame!
The Moles head out into the Surrey Hills after heavy rain to find mud, mayhem and a little bit of comedy on their night ride.
Another muddy ride over the best of the Surrey Hills, although the conditions brought on brake pad and handlebar failures.
Our Sunday ride takes us over the Pitch and Holmbury Hills for some great trails. Just don’t expect to do it relying only on a GPS!
A Wednesday night ride with 12 riders, 16 miles and lots of draggy clay.
The Muddymoles make a huge loop to Box Hill via Epsom Downs, Matt finds his mojo and after three weeks, the thaw sets in.
Our weekly night ride took full advantage of the frozen conditions to pack a fast and furious punch round Norbury Park and Mickleham, finishing on Alsation.
An interesting mountain bike route from Bookham to Gatton Park in Reigate, taking in Colley Hill and the North Downs Way.
