Ride 3rd Feb – Californian conditions (well almost!)

The recent rain had lessened in frequency and the biting wind had helped to dry out the trails a little. Hence I thought that I’d forgo the dubious pleasure of riding for four hours into a headwind on the roadbike and break out the MTB.

Ok, so I gave up Geography for French when it came to ‘O’ level choices *; but I still thought my reasoning was sound, surely a sandy heath will drain better than trails on chalk or loam?  We would find out later, the hard way!

Ride report: Sunday 18 November – Swinley

It might sound hard to believe but I haven’t been to Swinley in over 18 months. The subject came up on the way back from Wales and after finding out that Yoghurt Pots was going to be closed for maintenance at Holmbury, a plan was swiftly hatched.
